Meet the Fort Worth Team Behind Level Two Chimney Fort Worth

We’re the crew that shows up at your door in Fort Worth with a uniform, a license number, and a camera rig that costs more than most trucks. What ties us together isn’t corporate training. Corrine Halstead, Owner

I started Level Two Chimney Co. in 2009 after watching too many Fort Worth homeowners get a verbal “ballpark” that somehow tripled once the tech was on the roof. I wrote the Haven Standard because I needed a framework I could actually enforce. Thirty-eight thousand chimneys later, I’m still the person who answers the phone at odd hours and still the one who reviews every photo record before it goes to the customer. I keep a 1978 Buck Stove in my own living room that I’ve rebuilt three times. It’s terrible on emissions and I love it anyway.

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus has been running Level Two’s inspection rig in Fort Worth for eleven years. He’s NFPA 211 Level 2 certified and specializes in masonry evaluation, which means he’s the one who can tell you whether those hairline cracks in your firebox are cosmetic or whether your smoke chamber needs parging. He grew up in the Stop Six neighborhood and still lives there with two pit bulls who are, in his words, “absolutely useless but excellent company.” Marcus is the technician most likely to find a bird’s nest in a flue and most likely to text you a photo of it before you’ve hung up the phone.

Darla K., Senior Installer

Darla handles our liner installations and full rebuilds across Tarrant County. She came to us from commercial HVAC in 2015 and brought a rigging background that means she can get a stainless DuraFlex liner down a three-story chase without scratching the siding. She’s factory-trained on HeatShield cerfractory resurfacing and is the reason we’ve been able to offer solid warranty coverage on smoke chamber repairs since 2017. Darla rebuilds vintage motorcycles in her garage in Meadowbrook. She will talk about carburetors for exactly as long as you let her.

James R., Service Coordinator

James is the voice you hear when you call (682) 499-2712 at 10 PM on a Saturday because you smelled something odd from the fireplace. He’s been with us since 2014 and has a written price sheet for every standard job we offer, which means you get a real number while you’re still on the call, not a callback on Monday. James schedules every route, texts customers when their tech is en route, and maintains the photo archive that goes back to our first job in 2009. He lives in Wedgwood and claims to have the only lawn in Fort Worth that his HOA has never complained about.

Elena V., Apprentice Technician

Elena joined us in 2023 after completing her associate’s in construction technology at Tarrant County College. She’s working toward her Level 2 certification under Marcus’s supervision and already runs the camera on about half our Fort Worth inspections. She’s particularly good at spotting creosote buildup patterns in older clay flue liners, which is a skill that usually takes years to develop. Elena grew up in a house near Lake Worth with a chimney that, she recently discovered from our own archives, we swept in 2011. She has not forgiven her parents for never mentioning it.
